Abstract: Do you know if the care that you are providing for your patients is based upon up-to-date research evidence? This article provides a starting point for understanding research evidence – what is it and where does it come from? Also, how can research evidence be applied in practice? Finally it considers ways in which healthcare practitioners can remain up-to-date and ensure their practice is evidence-based.
